Dusenburg’s
Great food! Large quantity! Low prices! Is there a down side? Sort of, they close at 3pm! Dusenburg’s on the corner of Fredrick road and Mellor AVE is a fantastic place to eat if you’re in the mood to get your grub on. Recently I have heard talk about how eating on campus is costing students a bundle. The dinning hall (it will always be D-hall to use older students) recently raised their prices from lunch’s $7.55 to $9.55. The prices for breakfast and dinner also increased. But Duisenberg’s prices have much more bang for the students little buck.
I was referred to Dusenburg’s from a reader of UMBCeats who told me that the food was increasable. Do you ever find yourself wondering how big a burger can be before you cannot physically fit it in my mouth anymore? Stop by this place and order one of there many delectable non-bite size burgers. I highly recommend trying their Hawaiian burgers, or the Rout 66 burger.
The average price at Dusenburg’s is around the same price as eating at the dinning hall for lunch or dinner. But the best part is that this food actually tastes like food! I’m talking mouth watering, cooked to perfection, style of good food. You know that feeling you get when you walk into Mom’s (or in my case Dad’s) kitchen and the smell of a home cooked meal hits your face? Well, that is the kind of reaction I had when I walked into Dusenburg’s for the first time. I have no complaints yet about any of the food I have tried there. The only thing that I was not impressed by was the restraint itself. It did not have any kind of fun character or goofy pictures on the wall. It is also a small space. I’ve also heard a rumor that Duisenberg will be moving its location in about a year’s time to a larger space on Fredrick road. But this is only just a rumor.
If you are in the mood to try Dusenburg’s here is a website you can click here.

It’s actually “Duesenburg’s American Cafe”. The owner of Taney Town Deli actually sold that store and bought the location adjacent to it! The food is really great and the portions are generous. No one makes burgers like they do, literally falling out of the buns with a 1/2 slab of meat in the middle. I think it would be great if they moved to a bigger place, as it gets a little crowded in there at lunch time. I believe they are open from 8:30am-3:30pm. Plenty of seating, and they do pickup orders.
Sure, plenty of seating if you are ok with eating outside. And in this time of year, its hard to do that. But I agree with you on their generous portions. I had to eat my burger with a toothpick so that the burger would stay together. It would be great if they were able to get a larger location, but until then theres always pickup orders if the place is too crowded.
It would help if you spelled their name right. http://duesenbergscafeandgrill.com/
Dusenberg’s.
I suggest a search-and-replace to fix it in the article.
I’ve been to Dusenberg’s for breakfast a few times and their breakfasts are fantastic too! They have the most interesting combinations of food. My favorite so far is the South Sider – Fried green tomato, Applewood smoked bacon, poached egg and caramelized onion topped with Hollandaise sauce $8.95 It’s delicious! We’ve never had anything there that wasn’t great!
