I am a junior, double majoring in Information Systems (B.S.) and Media &
Communication Studies (B.A.). I consider myself to be a citizen of the world. My parents hail from Ghana, however I was born in Australia, and have lived in 5 countries (Papua New Guinea, New Zealand, South Africa, and the United Arab
Emirates). As well as gorging on ethnic foods, I love music and dancing! I
am currently a Communications Intern at the UMBC Office of Institutional
Advancement.

I am a junior, chemical engineering major with a music minor. I hope to go into the food industry, green cosmetics, or green pharmaceuticals after college. If all else fails, I hope to attend culinary school (true foodie at heart! haha). I love running, hiking, singing, snowboarding, traveling, dancing, and of COURSE…eating TONS of great food (such a glutton =P). Food really is something very dear to my heart and family and I hope to share my passion with the rest of UMBC! =)

I’m a junior double major in political science and Interdisciplinary studies (environmental and labor economics) born and raised in southeast Baltimore County. I’m a Sondheim Public Affairs Scholar and among many campus activities, I work for the Student Events Board on campus as a design and marketing director. I love art, film, and design and especially love creating things. I’m very interested in food policy, especially looking at how American agriculture and food has transformed over the past few decades. I’m vegan and am always really excited to try and cook new foods; I love baking cupcakes and other good treats in my spare time.

I am a junior, trying to get into the music program so I can finish my interdisciplinary studies major involving music technology, business and a pinch of American studies. I hope to break into the music business after I graduate either in a live concert venue as a sound technician, or a recording studio as a recording engineer. I play guitar in a pop/rock band (called Deep Down…) back home in Southern Maryland. I initially heard about the food blog when I was sitting in the commons, and I was handed a flyer. I am always looking to find some free food on campus! So naturally, I attended the event. When I heard what they were all about, I thought I could do a good job reporting to others where the free food was. I already do all the research and leg work trying to get a free bite to eat. The only difference now is that I tell a LOT more people about it! I am a member of SEB, the Student Events Board for UMBC. They are one of the many organizations on campus that provide free food to anyone who will participate in their events. Much of what I write about comes from what I know SEB (or any other organization) is planning on doing as far as giving away a lot of delicious treats. Look for my posts when you’re feeling hungry but don’t have a spare meal to spend or you’ve run out of lunch money for the week!

I am a junior in the Emergency Health Services program on the Management track. I have been involved in a plethora of things on campus since my freshman year. I was an Orientation Peer Advisor, a Commuter Woolie, I am currently a part of the A-team for the Office of Admission as an Ambassador, I was the president of the Commuter Student Association, I am in the Student Dining Committee, and I work on campus. After doing all these things, I feel like I need to take a breather and find a new niche at UMBC. I like to try new things and have fun. I love cooking for people and love happy faces. So, I started a food blog with my good friend Maddie, and we named it WePlayWithFood on Tumblr (weplaywithfood.tumblr.com). I was connected to the UMBCeats blog by a current blogger to share my experiences with UMBC. Now I am here and excited to start cookin’ like a chef for UMBC!

I am a sophomore double majoring in Biochemistry and Visual arts, with a concentration in Print Media. I am a food lover who loves to try new, adventurous food. A big part of my life has been devoted to healthy eating, learning and living. During my free time I like to listen to music, read and drink tea. I also enjoy learning about food psychology and social neuroscience at my leisure. I am a staff member for the Office of Volunteerism and Awareness in the SGA and part of UMBC A-team. Currently, I am working on living my life and trying all the different flavors of Odwallah drinks this campus offers

I am currently a senior biochemistry major looking to pursue a graduate level degree in public health. Growing up in an Indian household, food has been a major part of my life, and I am now finally figuring out that moderation is the key to a healthy life. In addition to being a food blogger, I teach group fitness classes at the RAC, and I am a Student Intern-Leader with the Shriver Center. My recipe for a good mood includes: fresh air, a positive attitude, healthy eating habits and a active lifestyle. I try to incorporate all of these elements in my day-to-day lifestyle. Tennis is a huge passion in my life and, after being injured for the past 10 months, I am looking to start playing in the near future. I am also planning to run/possibly walk my first race on October 16th 2010 at the Baltimore Running Festival. To find out more about my healthy living journey check out my personal blog.
This is super cool! I try and blog my eats on my own site as a commuter- can’t wait to read more

“Anarchy in the Kitchen” brings together a diverse group of artists who engage in acts of culinary chaos that interrogate the intersection of edibility and aesthetics, technology and cuisine, and prose and produce. From human sausage grinders and battery-powered lemons to shopping cart gardens and text message meals, “Anarchy in the Kitchen” questions notions of digestibility, consumption, and good taste in our daily interactions with the food system.
“Anarchy in the Kitchen” is curated by Laura McGough and features performances, videos, and sound works by Graham Coreil-Allen, Steve Bradley, Bradley Chriss, Adam Good, Carolina Mayorga, Lisa Moren, Rebecca Nagle, Tim Nohe, Natalia Panfile, Casey Smith, and Shannon Young.

UMBC should definitely get a chipotle next year; it would make it so much better, like a chipotle right next to the subway; people should defiantly petition for that.
Hi bloggers!
My name is Lindsey and I am an intern at the Vegetarian Resource Group, which is based in Baltimore, MD! I am doing an article about vegan lifestyles at college, and I would love to e-mail Stefanie a few questions! Please e-mail me back and let me know! Thanks
